Profit with Principle and the Catholic Building Society
Profit with Principle has agreed a reciprocal introducer agreement with the Catholic Building Society in order to offer our
clients a range of deposit accounts and mortgages that meet ethical criteria, as well as providing competitive rates. The Chief Executive of the Catholic Building Society said:
"Our range of saving accounts offers the investor the ethical
option they are seeking. Whether for the youngster,
opening their first savings account, or the retiring professional with
a lump sum to invest, there is likely to be an appropriate
socially responsible solution. Joining forces with Profit with
Principle opens us up to a market in which we believe we will be
warmly welcomed".
History and Background of the Catholic Building Society
Catholic Building Society is an independent mutual Building Society, owned by its Members and run for their long-term benefit.
The Society was formed to help people and this can best be accommodated within a mutual organisation. The Society
has provided a safe and secure home for its Members investments for 46 years, whilst offering competitive rates
of interest.
We have over £40m of assets and a strong financial position. When the Society first set down its objectives
and guiding principles, these were all focused on helping first-time buyers, many of whom were on low incomes, and
to give single women and widows an equal opportunity to buy their own home. In the 1960's this was virtually unheard
of. The Society maintains sufficient reserves to safeguard Members' funds and reflect its financial strength.
Savings
A principal objective is to provide competitive savings and investment products which offer excellent value for
Members. Accounts include ones which give Members an opportunity to support worthy causes.
Mortgages
CBS strives to help all prospective Borrowers to buy a home of their own, including those who find it difficult
to obtain mortgage facilities elsewhere.
CBS believe that mutuality continues to bring benefits because:
- It gives them an ability to pay and charge competitive interest rates as they have no dividends to distribute
to external shareholders.
- They are able to concentrate on the needs of their Members and not be distracted by short-term pressures from the City.
- They offer a personal service based on a thorough understanding of their Members' needs
